Party in the Park is an informal gathering that celebrates the outdoor exhibitions of LagosPhoto and its mission at reclaiming public spaces. This year, the Party in the Park will be held at Freedom Park, a former prison on Lagos Island that has been converted to a public park.

This event will also serve as the reception for POPCAP’ 14, the international photography competition for contemporary African photography, which will be shown at Freedom Park.  This years winners are Joana Choumali (Ivory Coast), Ilan Godfrey (South Africa), Léonard Pongo (Belgium), Anoek Steketee & Eefje Blankevoort (The Netherlands), and Patrick Willocq (France).

Party in the Park will also include a film screening series, including Bénédicte Vanderreydt’s I am 14, Farewell by Monster Truck, and the Archive of Modern Conflict’s Studio Cameroon.
